1966 Superformance GT40 Mk2 - P2415

P2415 is one of the most unique Superformance GT40's to ever be produced. The chassis number on this Mk2 has been specially ordered to commemorate the 1966 Daytona 24 hour race and the car that Ken Miles along with codriver Lloyd Ruby drove to victory, P1015. P2415: "24" for the Daytona 24 Hour Race & "15" for GT40 1015 that won the race.

Modern Ford power & performance are under the rear bonnet, specifically a dual overhead cam 5.2 Aluminator producing over 600hp naturally aspirate HP with a redline of over 8000 RPM's! Only the 2nd GT40 to receive this powerful engine. A modern 5-speed transaxle transfers power to either you choice of a  set of period correct 15" Halibrand wheels wrapped in Goodyear Sportscar Special race tires or a custom set of 18" front & 19" rear Forgeline wheels and Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires with 325/30/19 out back! Powered by a dual overhead cam 5.2 Aluminator producing over 600 naturally aspirated HP with a redline of over 8000 RPM's! We paired this with a modern 5-speed transaxle to transfer power to a set of period correct 15" Halibrand wheels wrapped in period-look Firestone race tires  Speedhut custom gauges set off an original style interior that is complete with heat & AC.

We were lucky enough to have Mario sign the dash of P2431 himself at SEMA 2022. This is the seconf heritage-series car that has a "P" number tied to the original race car making it that much more special.

1966 Alan Mann GT-1 GT40 Mk2

Downforce Motorsports,  the second-largest Superformance dealer globally, proudly announces the unveiling of their our masterpiece, the Alan Mann GT1 Tribute Superformance GT40, slated to make its debut at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix GT40 60th Reunion July 26-28.

Alan Mann was an important part of Ford’s racing activities in the 1960s. Alan Mann Racing was the driving force in the weight reduction efforts for the Ford GT40 program. Recognizing that less weight required less power, increased reliability, and improved braking and acceleration, Mann spearheaded a series of GT40s with aluminum replacing steel and other weight reductions. These GT40s carried chassis numbers assigned by Mann and are highly sought after by collectors today.

“Crafting tributes that honor the legacy of motorsport icons is a passion at Downforce Motorsports,” stated Dan Long, President of Downforce Motorsports. The Alan Mann GT1 Superformance GT40 embodies our commitment to excellence and reverence for racing history; we are proud to be a part of that story.”
